Leeds United have agreed personal terms to sign Nico Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach, with club-to-club talks pending. The Swiss international would provide real experience to the side as well as being likely to settle quickly. Given his connection with Farke, it’s one that makes sense to get wrapped up quick and forget about another transfer priority that’s suddenly opened up. In terms of price, you’d hope that Leeds aren’t paying anything significant at all. Elvedi, 29 (30 in September), is out of contract next summer and has already made it clear he’s ready to join Leeds. He has proven that over the years.” Lofty praise and strong backing from Farke. You can absolutely see why he’s intent on brinigin him back under his wing this summer. And, the fact that Elvedi is so keen to have this deal wrapped up is quite an encouraging sign. He knows that Farke could be the manager to get the best out of him, which could do wonders for our centre-back depth.
