Crystal Palace are in the hunt for Torino forward Alieu Njie but they now have to make an extra effort for the signing.
This week, Sport Witness have covered how the Eagles have made an offer to sign the Swede. They have put forward €26m including bonuses… which aren’t easily achievable.
Salzburg and Anderlecht are also in the chase for Njie, however, they’ve offered kess.
More is emerging in Italy about the youngster, and Crystal Palace have been told how to proceed with the deal.
Eagles formula not satisfying Torino
TuttoSport report Pierre Sage’s side are offering less than initially thought. They haven’t gone beyond €20m and aren’t offering an outright permanent deal either.
Crystal Palace have put forward an initial loan with a conditional obligation to buy which will become mandatory if certain conditions are met.
This is the point of the deal that doesn’t satisfy Torino, even if the Eagles are paying a major loan fee too. The Italian side want a permanent transfer, having already rejected Salzburg’s initial approach.
The Austrian side haven’t given up, though. They have an agreement over personal terms with Njie but Crystal Palace are closer to satisfying Torino’s demands.
Salzburg are preparing a new offer though, which should come as a warning to the London side.
Our take: Torino creating an auction
TuttoSport have indicated that Torino are hoping to unleash an auction for Njie. So far, that is exactly what seems to have happened, with the player attracting major offers.
More than that, Njie has also changed his agent. He is now with Italian agent Sandro Martone and TuttoSport have clarified this.
Clearly, these two factors are behind the bidding war surrounding the 21-year-old. Njie has never been a regular for Torino over the last two seasons but his exit would benefit his new entourage and Il Toro.
For now, paying a major amount for the attacker makes little sense.
