Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner has admitted that the club were not on his radar when he left Crystal Palace this summer. Sky Germany have an interview with the Nottingham Forest boss today. He is candid about what attracted him to join the club this summer. Nottingham Forest surprise Reports linked Glasner with jobs across Europe this summer after it was made clear earlier this year that he would be leaving Crystal Palace at the end of the season. The belief was that he had his eye on a big step up following his two years at Selhurst Park, where he won the FA Cup and Europa Conference League. Instead, the Austrian surprised everyone by making the move to Nottingham Forest, a side who finished a place below Crystal Palace last season. Indeed, they flirted with relegation for much of that campaign before a strong finish helped them to escape by five points. For some, it’s a step down for the Austrian coach, who was also linked to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea in the Premier League. He’s now hard at work getting them up to scratch. Nottingham Forest not on the radar And he is happy to admit that Nottingham Forest were not on his radar. And he was clear about that with owner Evangelos Marinakis too. “It was a bit of a crazy summer, I must say. A lot of enquiries,” he said. “I didn’t quite know how and what. But it was always my goal to stay in the Premier League. I have simply enjoyed the last almost two and a half years. “Then Nottingham was suddenly at the door, and I have to be honest, and was also very honest to the owner, I didn’t have them on the radar. It wasn’t really the step I had somehow in mind, because we’re not playing internationally. “But then I looked at the squad and thought, there’s actually more potential in it than how they’ve shown recently.
