Hibs UEFA Conference League play-off opponents revealed - either or option with away leg first
David Gray’s men must progress past North Macedonian opponents to secure progress
Hibs will face either IFK Gothenburg or KAA Gent in the UEFA Conference League play-offs – if David Gray’s men get through their third qualifying round tie. Today’s draw at UEFA HQ has pitted the winners of Hibs v KF Shkendija against the victors from the qualifier between the Swedes and the Belgians.
Should Hibs progress, the first leg of their play-off will be in Gothenburg or Gent on August 20, with the return leg in Edinburgh a week later – although the dates and final venue details won’t be confirmed until later today.
Hearts investor Bloom’s Brighton were potential rivals

The draw saw Hibs avoid a series of more challenging potential opponents, with Hearts kingpin Tony Bloom’s Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion and French aristocrats AS Monoca in their ‘pot’ in the draw.
The Scots will have to get through the third qualifying round first, of course. They take on North Macedonian side KF Shkendija at Easter Road on Thursday, before travelling to Skopje for the return leg next week.
Gray hopes to have at least one more key attacking threat available for his team’s assault on European progress, with the trio of Jamie McGrath, Callum Wright and Nicky Cadden all moving closer to fitness. McGrath, who has been out with a calf strain, would bring added creativity in a No. 10 role.
Summer signing Wright, an attacking midfielder, is close to a return. Nicky Cadden is a little further away as he battles back from a niggling calf problem –but hasn’t been ruled out of a surprise return to action.
