Injury update on West Brom trio ahead of Championship opener at Norwich Jordan international attacker Tammer Bany is still hoped he can shake off long-standing injury issues and has trained well following a fitness plan. Boss James Morrison is encouraged by Tammer Bany’s progress as the attacker follows a fitness plan to kickstart his Albion career. The attacking midfielder, 22, has endured several injury setbacks since his arrival in January 2025 as a £3.3million recruit from Randers in Denmark. He is yet to make a competitive Baggies start and picked up another injury on the final day of last season at Sheffield Wednesday. Bany had 45 minutes in the behind-closed-doors friendly against Coventry last week and has trained well. But he's in a good place.” Bany will not be involved at Norwich on Saturday and the Championship opener comes too soon for winger Mikey Johnston to be considered ready to start on his broken ankle comeback. “We're still working him, still building him up,” Morrison added. “I think as a coach, your strongest weapon is sometimes your eyes. When I see him in training, I'll know when he's ready. “He gives us different attributes, different options, which I want. I don't want to be too one-dimensional. I like to be flexible. I like to see what the opposition do. “On his day Mikey's really exciting. I want to get him back to performing and being exciting.” Promising youngster Harry Whitwell (calf) has trained after coming off as a precaution at Rotherham last week.
