Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers took on the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night. Los Angeles had some struggles entering this series, but all of that is in the past. Despite losing Freddie Freeman to a potential injury, the Dodgers completed a sweep on Wednesday night.
It was a low-scoring game, but Los Angeles didn't need many runs. Betts and Shohei Ohtani contributed a home run each in the 4-2 win over the Royals. Los Angeles has corrected course after a brutal stretch where they lost eight of nine games. Betts himself is feeling quite well on the field, as he expressed on Wednesday.
“I haven't felt normal in a long time. There were glimpses, but no consistency. This is probably the most consistent, as far as days in a row, that I've been in a long time. Hopefully I can keep it going,” the Dodgers star said, via Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA.
Betts was an integral part of this sweep for Los Angeles. He recorded five hits, a home run, two doubles, and three RBI against the Royals. He played a major role in helping Los Angeles return to its winning ways during this series.
The Dodgers remain comfortably in the lead for the NL West division crown. They are eight games up on the San Diego Padres after this win. The Padres are doing well, having just swept the Milwaukee Brewers with a walkoff win on Wednesday.
Los Angeles will begin a three-game set with the Brewers at Dodgers Stadium on Thursday night.
