SDSU Volleyball players have enjoyed the team’s great success the last 2 years Jackrabbits have lost 1 time in 2 Summit League seasons BROOKINGS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -It was media day for Fall sports at South Dakota State in Brookings this afternoon. And we had a chance to talk with several coaches and athletes. Today we heard from the volleyball team that has had 2 amazing seasons in a row under Dan Georgalis who has turned the program completely around. And don’t think the players who were there when times were a little more challenging don’t appreciate being part of what Jackrabbit volleyball has become. Joslyn Richardson, SDSU Senior says, “It’s been so fun. I can say from my freshman year until now the level that this program has come to is just amazing and it’s been so fun to be a part of. And the connections I’ve made with all these girls is special. There’s something different about this team.” Dan Georgalis, SDSU VB Coach says, “We’re very excited. The seniors and upperclassmen in this group are extremely motivated. We’re 50-8 over the last 2 years and 31-1 in Summit League play. And there’s something about them that still has a chip on their shoulder.” That makes them extra dangerous. 2 straight NCAA appearances as an at-large from the Summit is very impressive. So is their schedule this year which includes hosting Nebraska in Brookings. And with 2-time All-American and conference player Sylvie Zgonc leading the way expect more big things from these Jacks.
