Zilla Fatu wasted no time making an impression during his surprise WWE NXT debut on Aug. 11, and his arrival didn’t just shake up the NXT Championship picture.
It also caught the attention of some familiar members of wrestling’s most famous family, adding another layer to an already explosive debut.
The 26-year-old son of the late Umaga stormed into the NXT main event, interrupting the No. 1 Contender’s Match between Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana.
While the match was supposed to determine Tony D’Angelo’s next challenger, Zilla had other plans, leaving fans wondering whether “The Main One” has already skipped to the front of the line.
The Usos acknowledge Zilla Fatu’s WWE NXT arrival
Zilla made sure his debut came with plenty of family DNA. He floored Cruz Montana with a pop-up Samoan Drop, dropped Grayson Waller with a Superman Punch, delivered consecutive Uso Splashes, and finished the destruction with his jumping Samoan Spike, known as the “Triple Z.” If actions speak louder than words, this debut was all gas and no brakes.
After clearing the ring, Zilla turned his attention to NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo and made his intentions crystal clear.
“I need that. New champ in town. The Main One. Get ready.”
The aftermath quickly spilled onto social media. The Usos reposted WWE’s clip of Zilla’s debut on X with a blood drop emoji, widely seen as a nod to The Bloodline.
Zilla then celebrated his arrival by posting, “HELLO!” on X, prompting cousin Jacob Fatu to respond with the same blood drop emoji.
As a member of the Anoa’i-Fatu family, Zilla is a first cousin of Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Jimmy and Jey Uso. His use of signature family offense, combined with the online reactions, immediately fueled speculation among fans about a future role in The Bloodline story.
For now, however, Zilla appears focused on NXT. Reports suggest WWE plans to let him establish himself on the brand before any potential move to the main roster. Until then, Tony D’Angelo has another powerhouse knocking on his door — and this one arrived with Bloodline business in mind.
