The New York Giants are set to take on the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday for the club's first game of the preseason. While fans are excited to see a glimpse of Jaxson Dart, head coach John Harbaugh is not quite ready to show his hand for Saturday's matchup. Harbaugh admitted that he is going to dodge any questions regarding his 23-year-old quarterback playing in the preseason opener, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN. It sounds like nobody will know for sure how much time Dart will receive on Saturday, but the new Giants coach did claim fans can expect to see Odell Beckham Jr. “John Harbaugh said he's going to ‘dodge' the question about Jaxson Dart playing in Saturday's preseason game vs. Vikings,” Raanan reported. “He did say later to expect Odell Beckham Jr. to play in that game.” Plenty of obvious starters sit out during the preseason. It typically depends on the coach and the situation. Harbaugh may opt not to play Dart at all against the Vikings on Saturday, and instead get the former first-round pick prepared for the second matchup of the preseason. Jaxson Dart flashed potential in his rookie year, as he put together a few good games despite the club ending the season with a 4-13 record. Wide receiver Malik Nabers appears to be back on track to return, and the same can be said about running back Cam Skattebo. That gives Dart two solid weapons for the upcoming campaign. The former Ole Miss Rebels quarterback ended his rookie year in the NFL with 2,272 passing yards, 487 rushing yards, and 24 total touchdowns (15 passing, 9 rushing) while completing 63.7% of his pass attempts. His efforts were good enough to have him finish fourth in the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
