Russell Martin has confirmed that Harry Souttar will captain Leicester City again this weekend against Notts County despite continued speculation over his future. Souttar captained the Foxes in their Carabao Cup win over Northampton Town last Saturday in Martin's first competitive game in charge. The City boss is yet to announce who will be his permanent captain after sharing the responsibility between his players in pre-season. The Australian defender has been linked with a permanent return to Sheffield United throughout the summer transfer window. The report also claimed that Souttar has informed Leicester of his desire to return to Bramall Lane. However, Martin has reaffirmed his desire to keep the former Stoke City man at the King Power Stadium. Speaking to Sky Sports News on Wednesday, the City boss said: “With Harry, I don't know. He captained the team on Saturday (and) he will captain the team this Saturday. "He's been amazing since I've been in, since he came back from the World Cup. He's a proper character so it wouldn't surprise me that people are interested in him." The Leicester manager also explained that players will only be allowed to leave if it suits all parties and the club is in a position to replace them. "We had a couple of bids but they were nowhere near the valuation of the club and what we value him at," he added. "That might change, who knows, but whilst he’s here and I've said this to everyone, we've had other people that have had interest from elsewhere, had bids and lots of talk around different players, but whilst they're here, they give everything, we’ll give everything to them and then if they end up leaving, it means it's right for the club, it's right for them and we’re in a position where we replace them, then everyone can look each other in the eye, shake hands and be happy. "Until that happens, I'm really happy to have him here, the same with the rest of the players. We just have to be ready in case, if and when, anything does happen."
