Archie Gray, Erling Haaland and England messages for James Trafford on Leeds United switch from Man City James Trafford has become Leeds United’s record signing by completing a £40m transfer from Manchester City. Ering Haaland and Archie Gray have issued messages to Leeds United’s new record signing James Trafford upon sealing a £40m transfer from Manchester City. Gray and now Haaland are both former teammates of the new Leeds no 1, Haaland having played alongside Trafford at City and Gray with England’s under-21s. Trafford looked set to be City’s new no 1 upon sealing a £31m move to the club last summer only for the club to also sign Gianluigi Donnarumma who became first choice between the sticks. It meant Trafford was limited to making just four Premier League appearances for City but the 23-year-old was City’s cup keeper and starred as the club won an FA Cup and Carabao Cup double. It meant Haaland and Trafford were able to celebrate silverware together twice and City’s Leeds-born striker has been among those to issue messages to the keeper upon his record breaking move to Leeds. Taking to his Instagram page, Trafford posted a photograph of himself in his new colours at Elland Road plus another one of him signing together with the words: “Marching on Together, let’s do something special.” A host of stars featured in the replies, led by Haaland who wrote: “Good luck brother let’s gooooo.” Former Leeds star Gray and Trafford’s England under-21s team mate also wrote “good luck mate” together with yellow and blue hearts. There were also messages from both Morgan Rogers and Elliot Anderson who also wished Trafford good luck, along with the official England Instagram account.
