AC Milan are poised and waiting if Borussia Dortmund do not manage to agree a deal with FC Köln for star forward Said El Mala. According to Express.de (via Goal), Dortmund have been told that they must offer €50m fixed plus €5m in bonuses in order to sign El Malal. If they offer that then Köln will not stand in the way of the Germany U21 international. Their sporting director Thomas Kessler has told El Mala’s camp – led by his mother Sabrina – that they will allow him to depart if their asking price is met. However, until BVB offer the sum requested, it remains open. Milan in the mix If Dortmund back down or even withdraw from the running, El Mala would still have an option abroad. According to the report, Milan are considering a swoop for the German U21 international, who scored 13 Bundesliga goals last season. Milan and Dortmund have already competed for a left-footed playmaker in Konstantinos Karetsas, the playmaker who joined the German giants from Genk and impressed on debut, scoring a beauty against Arsenal. Milan need to make sales before they can think about offering serious money for a player like El Mala. There are plenty of candidates but time is running out, with less than three weeks to secure exits and signings to complete the squad.
