Bishop’s: All-CIF opposite hitter Myah Koster is headed to Maryland. 6. La Jolla Country Day: Alice Burgett & TCU-bound Tatum Epstein are steady leaders. 7. San Marcos: Knights always seem to be hanging around near the end. 8. Santa Fe Christian: Noriah Johnson could be San Diego’s hardest hitter. 9. Westview: Division 1 recruits Peyton Erickson and Gabrielle Ngo control the net on both sides. 10. Mission Vista: Timberwolves are athletic and explosive at the net. Overview • Torrey Pines coach Brennan Dean, who has nine CIF championships and three runners-up, announced his resignation Monday. He will continue to run Wave Volleyball Club. Replacing Dean is Noly Mon, the boys volleyball coach at Canyon Crest Academy and a colleague of Dean’s at Wave. • Mon’s roster is stacked with Division I recruits at every position: setter (Emery Gonzales, Santa Clara), outside hitter (Jaycee Mack, Hawaii; Lilia Decker, Loyola-Chicago), opposite hitter (Parker Herrin, Hawaii), libero (Lila Green, Kansas) and middle blocker (Stella Delgadillo, Northwestern; Dylan Kupiec, Tennessee). Even defensive specialist Kenna Wilkinson (Colorado) and backup outside/middle Shayla Barry (Rhode Island) are Division I commits. • Jojo Wilson and sister Baylee lead Cathedral Catholic, while Ashlynn Proctor (Stanford) and sophomore sister Brooke have Coronado nipping at the Falcons’ heels. Cathedral Catholic also has college commits Sam Saba (Boston College) at libero, Ana Laverty (Utah) at libero/defensive specialist, Olivia Greenwood (Rice) at opposite hitter and Christian transfer Makenna Grieshaber (Cal State Northridge) at middle/right side. Jojo Wilson will play beach volleyball at Stanford, while Baylee Wilson is rated the top sophomore in the state by PrepDig.com.
