Luka Modric is almost unique when it comes to his immense dedication and professionalism, and he demonstrated it once again last night.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport write, some players wouldn’t even consider traveling without the convenience of a private flight or in first class. Others don’t really mind and would happily fly economy just to get where they need to be.

Modric obviously belongs to the latter category, because for him, substance has always mattered more than style. So, when returning from the three days off granted by Ruben Amorim after his tour of Australia and Indonesia, Luka was spotted last night at Malpensa.
Modric was coming back to Italy from Croatia, specifically from Zadar, where he owns a property and enjoys relaxing. The Ryanair flight he boarded landed at Malpensa after 01:00. Despite the time, the Croatian – who traveled alone, carrying a Croatian backpack – didn’t shy away from fans.
In fact, he gladly accepted the inevitable requests for selfies and autographs from those he encountered both on board and at the airport. At a time when Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot have become a hot topic for the way their vacation was handled, Modric remains a role model.
It is not the first time Modric and Ryanair have made headlines together. The midfielder returned late at night to be ready for the resumption of work at Milanello this afternoon, sending a message that – even at 40, with everything he has won – nothing comes ahead of Milan.
