Hello everyone, and welcome to football.london's Tottenham transfer news live blog.
Spurs have made several major signings this summer, but it doesn't look like Roberto De Zerbi has finished shopping just yet. A new day brings fresh rumours.
As for incomings, Liverpool star Cody Gakpo has been strongly linked with a move to Spurs. Manchester City's Savinho remains another option as does Chelsea's Pedro Neto. Talk has also centred on Galatasaray's Victor Osimhen and US World Cup star Folarin Balogun.
Onto outgoings, and Cristian Romero appears to be closing in on a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with a shock move to Arsenal mooted. With big deals to be done between now and the end of the summer deadline, stick with us for all the latest transfer news and gossip for all things Spurs.
Sky Sports News has said that Atletico Madrid are in talks with Tottenham over signing Cristian Romero.
Figures have reportedly been discussed between the two clubs, but Spurs have yet to receive a formal offer.
The news comes after Romero was linked with a shock move to Arsenal, with the Gunners reportedly contacting the player’s reps over a switch.
Spurs have slapped a £30million price tag on midfielder Pape Sarr amid interest from Aston Villa, according to Football Insider.
Villa are big admirers of Sarr, and the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes at Spurs have given Sarr pause for thought over his future in North London, according to the report.
Spurs, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are said to be in for Stuttgart attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss this summer.
He was linked with Spurs 12 months ago, but instead moved to the Bundesliga club on loan from Leicester City.
According to FußballDaten, Spurs have made initial contact with the player's agent to seek out the terms and conditions of a potential deal.
Spurs have joined Everton in the race to sign Galatasaray forward Baris Alper Yilmaz, according to Turkish outlet Turkiye Gazeti. The Turkish international has won four top-flight titles during his time with Galatasaray.
Turkiye Gazeti has stated that Spurs have made contact to learn the details of a potential deal for the winger, but it’s the Toffees who are set to open negotiations.
While Arsenal are understood to admire Romero, it's noted that Spurs are currently 'unaware' of any interest from the club.
Tottenham would be highly unlikely to entertain selling their captain to a direct rival, with a move described as having a 'slim' chance of success.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed Cristian Romero could join Arsenal this summer, with Spurs' rivals looking to bolster their defence. However, he said Spurs do not want to sell to the Gunners.
“On Cuti Romero. I expect Arsenal to sign a centre-back. So, for sure, Arsenal are looking at centre-backs on the market,” the journalist said on his YouTube channel.
“Then, this could be probably one of the next priorities, we will see also about the winger of course, and then Bruno Guimaraes official.
“Arsenal spoke to the agents of Cuti Romero. Arsenal asked for information on Cuti Romero. The relationship, Arsenal [and] Tottenham, is obviously a complicated relationship.
“[It is] way easier for Tottenham to give the green light to Atletico Madrid. My understanding is that the clear favourites to sign Cuti Romero now are Atletico Madrid.
“The player is negotiating with them, Atletico Madrid are negotiating with Tottenham.
“So, Arsenal ask for information, but Tottenham don’t want to sell to Arsenal, so the only way would be an historical green light from Tottenham to Arsenal.”
Arsenal are said to be ‘pushing hard’ to sign Spurs defender Cristian Romero, according to Daily Mail.
The Gunners have reportedly reached out to the defender's representatives to sound out the terms of a potential deal.
However, it's thought that Atletico Madrid are leading the chase for the Argentinian star.
Spurs will sign Man City’s Savinho this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Sky Blues reportedly want £60m for the player and are waiting to sign a replacement before letting him leave.
Romano said: “I think at the end of the [summer] transfer window, Savinho has very, very good chances to join Tottenham [Hotspur]. I don’t expect any surprises here.”
Talk of Liverpool moving for Spurs defender Djed Spence appears to be wide of the mark. The full-back has been rumoured with an exit from North London this summer, but the Liverpool ECHO has claimed that the Reds have no intention of moving for the player.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has also reported that the Reds will not be signing Spence. He said: “Spence is open to a move away from Spurs and has been offered to several clubs, but LFC are focused on other targets as it stands.”
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Spurs have made contact with Chelsea over a deal for Pedro Neto. A move for the Portuguese star is said to be seen as an alternative to Manchester City’s Savinho.
Chelsea are believed to be open for Neto to leave Stamford Bridge for around £60million, with City also thought to be interested in the forward.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Spurs have a verbal agreement with Micky Van de Ven over a new long-term contract.
Van de Ven had been linked with an exit for some time. However, the Dutch defender will reportedly receive a significant pay boost at the club as part of the new contract.
Tottenham Hotspur will have to break the bank to sign Cody Gakpo from Liverpool. The 27-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Lilywhites this summer as Roberto De Zerbi looks to strengthen his attacking options, but the price tag could prove to be an issue.
Football.london understands that Spurs are interested in signing Gakpo, whose contract at Anfield expires in June 2030. According to Dutch outlet VI, the Reds want at least £60m for the Dutchman, whom they signed from PSV Eindhoven for just £40m in December 2022.
