Former WWE Superstar Nikki Storm, formerly known as Nikki Cross, recently revealed how she was selected for her role as Abby the Witch in the Wyatt Sicks. In June 2024, the Wyatt Sicks made their WWE debut on RAW. Led by Uncle Howdy, the faction featured Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, and Nikki Cross. They immediately made an impact by attacking stars backstage and quickly became one of WWE’s most talked-about factions. However, the faction later struggled with stop-and-start momentum and inconsistent booking. While some fans felt the Wyatt Sicks were not given enough time to fully develop, the faction was eventually released in April 2026. Nikki Cross discusses her Sanity roots and the creative path to Abby the Witch Speaking on Insights with Chris Van Vliet, Nikki Cross was asked how she became part of the Wyatt Sicks and how she was selected for the role. She explained that the character was connected to her previous work from Sanity in NXT. She said, “So I was playing the Nikki A.S.H. character; she had been turned villain, she had turned heel on Rhea Ripley, she was a heel, and then at that point the creative had changed, and Triple H loved the Nikki Cross, the SanitY character, because when I started at NXT in 2016, and it was Triple H, Sanity was his brainchild.” Cross then explained why Triple H was particularly fond of her Sanity character, “So he always loved Nikki Cross as that little crazy, little gremlin, mischievous, like wild Tasmanian devil.” According to Cross, that appreciation for her old character eventually played a major role in her transition from Nikki A.S.H. to Abby the Witch. “So we made the switch to that, and I don’t know when, but I think at that point Triple H started to think about me being in the Wyatt Sicks. So I think that’s how we kind of got from Nicky A.S.H. to Abby the Witch.” Nikki Cross reveals the long-term creative plan behind Abby the Witch “We went back to Nikki Cross, and then it was something was happening. That was when you saw me staring off into the distance, because I think at that point in the creative’s mind they were like, we want to start to tell this story.” Cross also admitted that transitioning into the strange and mysterious Abby the Witch character was not necessarily a huge stretch for her. “We’re not there yet because we’ve not debuted the Wyatt Sicks yet, so we’ll have people know that something is going on in our head. I’m a little crazy anyway, so it wasn’t a big wide stretch.” “So it was, you know, being in the trance, and something is going on there in kind of Easter eggs and the slow-term storytelling, which I think the creative likes that kind of longer style.” Read More: Former WWE Star Was Summoned To Vince McMahon’s Office For Surprise RAW Title Change If you use these quotes, please credit the original source and link back to WrestleZone with an h/t for the transcription.
