It was only a friendly derby between AC Milan and Inter, but Hakan Calhanoglu bemoaned the officiating that led to the equaliser.
The derby between Milan and Inter in Perth ended 1-1. The preseason content on Australian soil saw the Milanese sides leave with a share of the spoils after Federico Dimarco’s goal early in the second half and Christopher Nkunku’s late penalty.

The spot kick awarded to the Rossoneri following contact between Carlos Augusto and Nkunku sparked a storm of protests among the Nerazzurri players. They surrounded the referee, whom they believed had made an error.
At the end of the match, Calhanoglu spoke to DAZN (via Calciomercato.com) and expressed his disagreement with the decision made by referee Lachlan Keevers.
Were you unlucky with the penalty?
“Let’s put it that way. Everyone saw it wasn’t a penalty, but that’s fine. The referee decided that way, and that’s fine. We did a good job, we’re working hard and putting fuel into our legs.”
At the end of the match, during the handshakes between the players, Calhanoglu had a brief exchange with Modric, who had come off the bench and performed very well.
The Croatian midfielder joked with the Turk about his new look, as he showed up after the World Cup with a shaved head, or perhaps it is falling out bit by bit.
