Aston Villa face the risk of missing out Atalanta’s El Bilal Touré if the Premier League side don’t take quick action.
The Mali international hasn’t enjoyed a good run since joining the Serie A side from UD Almería in July 2023. A year later, La Dea sent him on loan to VfB Stuttgart before letting him join Beşiktaş on another loan last summer.
Touré managed seven goals and five assists from 26 matches, and the Black Eagles didn’t make his stay permanent. Aston Villa are now among the clubs keen on signing him this summer.
Last month, Sport Witness relayed news of the Villans, Everton, Newcastle United and Fulham being keen. The Italian club are ready to sanction a move and are asking for €18m.
Aston Villa and 2 others make advances
Africa Foot state Parma have overtaken the Europa League winners and others in the transfer race.
Atalanta have appointed Maurizio Sarri as their new manager, but El Bilal Touré is not part of his plans next season.
Therefore, the Serie A side are working on getting rid of him this summer, and Aston Villa, Fenerbahçe and Parma have shown interest.
A source confirmed to Africa Foot that both Unai Emery’s side and the Turkish club are at advanced stage to sign the 24-year-old.
‘Discussions were at an advanced stage with Aston Villa and Fenerbahçe. The final decision always rests with Atalanta, where the player is still under contract,’ a source said.
Competitor overtake Aston Villa
However, the Malian is closer to Parma as Atalanta have accepted their offer. This includes €1.5m in loan fee, €10m purchase clause and a 15% sell-on clause.

The same source explained: ‘The club’s management was quite pleased with the offer made by Parma.’
‘Indeed, there is an agreement with Parma. It’s a loan with an option to buy and a 15% sell-on clause. After that, it will depend on whether Parma stays in Serie A and on the number of matches El Bilal plays, because injuries are taking their toll on him.’
‘We hope everything goes well and that he has a great season… So, depending on the matches he plays this season, we’ll see what happens. He’s expected to undergo his medical examination before joining the Italian club’s squad.’
If Aston Villa still want to sign El Bilal Touré, they have to make an offer to convince both the player and club to snatch him from Parma’s clutches.
