Then Aston Villa’s asking price for Emiliano Martinez has proved too high. That has left Vicario and Parma’s Zion Suzuki as the two leading candidates, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian newspaper explains Juventus have kept working on both names. Ironically, though, the latest twist involving Suzuki has actually pushed Vicario back into pole position. Even if they’re prepared to let him leave this summer, it’s hard to see why they’d agree to a deal that gives them no guaranteed return at the end of it. It would be a great solution for Juventus. Even with those alternatives being explored, Vicario is still the man at the top of Juventus’ list. The problem is the same as before. Everything depends on Tottenham agreeing to a straight loan with no future obligations, and from the outside, that doesn’t look like a deal Spurs have much reason to accept.
