Taylor Swift is the most high-profile Kansas City Chiefs fan on the planet, and NFL fans have gotten used to seeing her in the stands cheering on Travis Kelce. However, when the Chiefs begin their season on Monday night against the Denver Broncos, there’s a real chance that Taylor will not be in attendance. While Taylor is often in the stands supporting Travis, she has a decision to make ahead of the team’s season opener, as a scheduling conflict might force her to miss the first game of what could be Kelce’s final NFL season. Taylor Faces a Decision The good news for Taylor is that she has received five Emmy nominations for her Eras Tour documentary that was released earlier this year. The bad news is that those Emmy nominations put her in a bit of a pickle. The problem for Taylor is that the Emmy Awards ceremony is on Monday night, at the exact same time as Kansas City’s season-opening showdown with the Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium. That means that if Taylor opts to go to the Emmys, she will not be able to be there for Kelce’s first game. This obviously would not be the first home game that Taylor would be forced to miss as a result of her other obligations, but it would be the first time she would be attending a game as his wife, not just his girlfriend or fianceé. Taylor Opts Against Moving to Kansas City While Taylor faces this decision on whether to attend Monday night’s game in support of Kelce or attend the Emmys, she has already made a decision that has resulted in a bit of distance between her and her new husband. As longtime Hollywood insider and former celebrity publicist Rob Shuter reports, Taylor is not interested in moving to Kansas City, even if it means being closer to Kelce during the NFL season. “Taylor Swift is not moving to Kansas City for a year. Not going to happen,” he said during his recent appearance on Maureen Callahan’s “The Nerve” podcast. Shuter points out that Taylor has no real obligations at the moment with no tours or events planned. She could, hypothetically, spend all the time she wanted with Travis in Kansas City. But that’s not happening. “So, she’s in New York. We’ve seen her in London,” he said. “She has no concerts lined up. She could take her piano, she could take her guitar, and she could write a new album and call it the Kansas City album,” he continued. “She could do that if she wanted to. She doesn’t want to,” he added. Of course, that doesn’t mean she won’t be in the stands often throughout the upcoming season; she’ll just have to travel to get there.
