How to watch Shkendija vs Hibs: Live stream, team news, referee and VAR latest in Conference League second leg
Here’s how to watch Shkendija vs Hibs in the Conference League this week
Hibs travel to North Macedonia this week to face KF Shkendija in the second leg of their third round UEFA Conference League qualification tie.
The Hibees go into the match with a goal advantage after their 2-1 victory at Easter Road last Thursday, when defender Warren O’Hora bundled the ball home in the dying minutes. They then defeated Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon by the same scoreline, where midfielder Callum Wright was the last minute hero. Manager David Gray is hoping to keep the winning momentum going in Eastern Europe.
There’s certainly a better atmosphere in Leith now than there was during their last trip to a former state of Yugoslavia less than a month ago, when they were well beaten by Kosovan side Malisheva 2-0. However, they managed to get through that one - and this time with the advantage - should fancy their chances again. An aggregate win would see them face either IFK Gothenburg of Sweden or KAA Gent of Belgium in the play-off. In a match that hasn’t been selected for commercial broadcast, here’s how fans can still catch the action, as well as some other useful information about Shkendija vs Hibs.
When and where will Shkendija vs Hibs take place?
The match will take place at the City Stadium in Govistar, North Macedonia on Thursday August 13. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00pm BST (8:00pm local time).
Can I live stream Shkendija vs Hibs?
This one is not on TV but can be viewed via pay-per-view. Solid Sports will show the game at the price of £12 and a pass can be bought here. It will not be shown on on Hibs TV due to international broadcasting rights.
For fans unable to make the trip, they can catch the game in the home comforts of the Famous Five Stand at Easter Road - where multiple big screens in the Behind the Goals Suite will be showing the match. Tickets are available via the club website.
You can also keep up with all of the action here with the Evening News. Our man, John Greechan, will be in North Macedonia, where you can sample all the build-up plus a match report and player ratings right on the final whistle. There will also be more post-match reaction throughout the evening.
Who is the referee and VAR for Shkendija vs Hibs?
Kazakhstani whistler Bulat Sariyev is the match referee. His assistants are Sergei Vassyutin and Denis Labashov. Aidyn Tassbayev is on VAR duty, assisted by Tamas Bognar.
What is the Hibs team news ahead of Shkendija?
Forward Martin Boyle missed the Ibrox triumph due to an Achilles tendon issue and remains a major doubt for Thursday. Midfielder Wright looks to have fully recovered from his quad issue judging by his Govan heroics. Fellow maestro Jamie McGrath also came off the bench as he recovers from his calf issue. Wing-back Nicky Cadden has the same injury - but wasn’t deemed fit enough to be in the UEFA squad list.
What have Hibs said ahead of the Shkendija clash?
After the opening leg victory, manager Gray was happy with the win, but was well aware that there’s another 90 minutes to go, as the games come thick and fast for the Hibees. He said: "Playing Thursday and Sunday every week, it's relentless but we want this for as long as possible. There's no better feeling than winning games of football but it's only half-time."
