Manchester United were back on the centre of the European stage last night as they defeated Sabah 4-0. Dan Gore Nonetheless, they have numerous young players on loan across the continent who are involved in lower-profile matches. One such player is Dan Gore, who impressed at Rotherham United last season. The midfielder joined Luton Town this season and has gained significant playing time so far. Unfortunately, results have not been the best, and the Hatters lost again last night, this time 1-2 to Stevenage. Performance last night Gore started on the left-hand side of a two-man midfield and played the entire 90 minutes in the closely fought contest. None of his passes were classified as key ones, but he was incredible in possession. He kept the ball an impressive 95% of the time; in other words, he completed 71 out of 75 attempts. His long ball game was also on point, completing all four of his efforts to spray the ball across the pitch. Gore did not manage to take any shots on goal, but he did complete his only dribble attempt as he tried to carry the ball up the pitch for his side into more attacking areas. The young midfielder was not so effective in defensive scenarios, as his one clearance was his only defensive contribution of the match; he did not make any interceptions or blocks. He was also weak in duels, winning just one of his six ground duels and two of his four aerial battles. Gore and Luton will next be in action when they face Bradford City at home on 19th September.
