Multiple outlets in Italy are reporting that Roma and former captain Lorenzo Pellegrini have reached an agreement over a contract extension that will see the 20-year-old stay with the club for the 2026-27 season. Pellegrini set to sign with Roma for another year According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Fabrizio Romano and various others, a verbal agreement, or ‘agreement in principle’ has been reached with Pellegrini for a one-year contract extension that will see him through until the end of the 2026-27 season. Pellegrini had technically been a free agent after seeing his previous deal with the Giallorossi expire on June 30. The 36-time Italy international has spent the vast majority of his career with Roma, originally joining the club’s youth ranks as a schoolchild in 2007. He had a two-year spell with Sassuolo between 2015 and 2017, but the Giallorossi decided to activate their buyback clause in the summer of 2017 and Pellegrini has been based at the Stadio Olimpico ever since. He has racked up a total of 349 competitive appearances for the Giallorossi and has scored 62 goals in that time.
