Will Ospreay says the finish of his match against Kenny Omega at AEW All In had to be changed after another match used their planned spot. Reigning AEW World Champion Will Ospreay was the latest guest on the INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet podcast. He addressed his victory against Omega at All In: London and said the match lived up to expectations. However, he said they had to change the finish after another match used their planned spot earlier in the show. “Yeah, so much, man. It was just wild, just because going into it, I had really no ideas. I had feelings that I wanted to feel, but I didn’t know how to relay that in terms of the match storytelling. It was only when me and Kenny sat down and started talking about stuff, and then we just came together, and it was just like idea, flow and idea, flow,” Ospreay began. “Honestly, I’d love to be able to tell you guys that when we were hours from going on, and we found out that some people that did stuff that we wanted to do in our match. So then it put us under even more pressure to try and change things around and try and fit it in within our story. It’s no one’s fault. Things happen. I don’t blame anyone in that situation, but it was just as frustrating as it was. What we came up with, what our plan B was, was way, way, way better. So, I was dead happy with that,” the AEW World Champion said. Will Ospreay And Kenny Omega Had To Come Up With An Alternate Plan Speaking further, Will Ospreay said he and Kenny Omega had to improvise and come up with another finish for their match. They were also in a bit of a time crunch since only a few contests were left before the AEW All In main event. “It was maybe two or three matches before. So, we still had time on our hands, but I think a lot of it was just because we were putting so much pressure on ourselves, and we were just worried because obviously when you do these type of shows, you’re always communicating with the other wrestlers. But because it was a stadium, it’s so hard to have that kind of communication with everybody. So naturally, things will happen, and we just had faith that nothing else was going to happen that would have stepped on our toes, and thankfully no one did,” the AEW star continued. “But man, what we were able to come up with and what we were able to do, I couldn’t have done that with anybody. There were so many other alternative options for that main event than what it could have been. But I knew if this was my moment, I didn’t want to read anybody else’s script. I wanted it to be myself and Kenny. I really wanted that,” Ospreay said. Will Ospreay Explains Last-Minute Change To Kenny Omega Match At AEW All In When asked if there was a particular spot in the match that he was proud of, Will Ospreay said it was the finishing sequence. He and Kenny Omega called it “Plan B” after another match used their original “Plan A.” So they went with Omega kicking out of the One Winged Angel and Stormbreaker at one before Ospreay finally got the pin after performing a Hidden Blade. “Yeah, we labeled it Plan B because our Plan A got ruined because somebody done it in their match. So Plan B was One Wing Angel, kick out at one, Stormbreaker, kick out at one, then finish. I was proud of that one, but being honest, the thing that will never leave me ever. Kenny allowing me to kick out of the One Wing Angel. The significance and the importance behind that move cannot be understated. He has protected that move for 14 years. The only person to ever kick out of it was Ibushi, who was his long-time tag partner. The fact that he allowed me, and you think about the historical feuds that he’s had: Okada, Tana, Ibushi, Hangman, and he saved it for me. That’s like one of the biggest honors and the biggest accomplishments I think I’ve ever been given as a performer, as a wrestler,” the AEW World Champion said.
