| Southampton Looking At Bournemouth Striker Wednesday, 5th Aug 2026 18:57 According to the latest reports, Saints are considering making a move for a striker currently on the books of AFC Bournemouth, if they do so he will be a familiar face to at least one member of our squad. The Daily Echo are running a story on a report in The Bournemouth Daily Echo that claims that Cherries striker Daniel Jebbison is on Saints radar. He will be well known to new signing Lewis Dobbin, as both spent last season on loan at Preston North End, where the 22 year old Jebbison who will turn 23 in a weeks time scored 6 goals in 38 Championship appearances, although 16 of these were off the bench. The report also suggests that Jebbison is subject to interest from a number of clubs, including Championship rivals Wrexham and Birmingham City, as well as Hamburg and Genoa. He started his career at Sheffield United and started 9 league games with another 20 off the bench netting twice. He also enjoyed a loan spell at Burton in season 2021/22, scoring 7 times in 20 appearances. They sold him to Bournemouth for a development fee of around ÂŁ1.5 million in July 2024 after his contract with the Blades expired, he went out on loan to Watford at the start of the 2024/25 season, but didn't get much of a look in there, just 3 starts plus 10 off the bench and was recalled to the Vitality Stadium in January 2025, where he made 16 appearances off the bench and scored just once in the Premier League. Last season was spent on loan at Deepdale where he started well for the Lancashire club, scoring 5 goals in his first 15 Championship appearances, but he tailed off after that and would score just one more after mid December. In our match against Preston on the final day of the regular season, he played the first hour before being subbed off. Although born in Canada, he had an English Mother and on moving to England was capped at U18, U19's & U20 level before opting to switch his allegiances to Canada in 2023, making his full debut in 2025, He has appeared 7 times for the country of his birth, but failed to score in any of them and missed the cut for the World Cup squad. It is unclear whether this would be a permanent deal or a loan spell, but on the face of it, although he is highly rated by the Cherries, he isn't going to get a regular game and it is hard to see that his stats last season make him a signing that would excite the fans. I would think that this is more about his agent trying to stir up some interest in his client.
