Chelsea fans face travel chaos in getting to Stamford Bridge for the second straight game this weekend. The Blues host Hull at 3pm BST on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League, but many supporters will have to find alternative routes to the stadium. That is because there are part closures on both the Circle and District lines on Saturday and Sunday this weekend due to planned works. There will be no Circle line service between Edgware Road and Aldgate. On the District line, there will be no services between Tower Hill or Edgware Road and any of Ealing Broadway, Kensington (Olympia), Richmond or Wimbledon. Supporters of Chelsea and Hull travelling to Saturday’s game are being advised by Transport for London (TFL) to instead use the Piccadilly line. There will be rail replacement bus services in operation at Earl’s Court. Fulham Broadway station, the nearest station to Stamford Bridge, will be impacted by the part closure of the District line. It will be the second time in the space of just four days that travel disruption will impact fans getting to Stamford Bridge for a Chelsea match. Kick-off was delayed by 15 minutes for the Blues’ 6-3 Carabao Cup third-round win over Leeds on Wednesday night after issues on the District line and other London Underground lines due to a passenger incident. The game was supposed to begin at 8pm BST but instead commenced at 8:15pm. A statement released via Chelsea’s official social media channels and also displayed on the big screen at Stamford Bridge informed fans of the new kick-off time. At 7:40pm, Chelsea posted on X: “There will be a 15 minute delay to kick-off for our Carabao Cup third round tie with Leeds United tonight. The match will now begin at 20:15 BST.”
