AC Milan were one of three clubs who tried to sign Matthieu Udol from RC Lens over the summer, and they could go back in again. According to what is being reported by Footmercato journalist Sebastien Denis, Aston Villa and Sunderland in the Premier League both made approaches to try and sign Udol but were rebuffed, while the same applies to Milan. The journalist wrote on X: “Approached by AC Milan, Aston Villa, and Sunderland, the powerful left-footer was secure by RC Lens, who never considered a transfer. “Now fully focused on Ligue 1 and the Champions League with Lens, the player, who was pre-selected by Didier Deschamps before the World Cup, eagerly awaits Zinedine Zidane’s first squad announcement for the French national team.” Milan ended up signing Diego Moreira, but he was used on the right against Juventus and the Belgian admitted it is his preferred side.
