Lately we’ve all been talking more about the Boozer twins than their dad, which is understandable. Cameron just had a sensational freshman year at Duke and was the third pick in the NBA Draft, and Cayden showed immense growth last season. He’s going to be good, too. In somewhat of a surprise, he fell to the second round when his time for the draft came along, but he ended up having an outstanding NBA career. At Duke, he was terrific. He won ACC All-Freshman Team honors, averaging 13.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 61.4%. He helped Duke win the ACC Tournament in all three seasons he was a Blue Devil, and was the ACC Tournament MVP in 2002. In 2001, he was a key to Duke’s drive to the NCAA championship. Jason Williams and Shane Battier get most of the credit for that, but Boozer was Mr. Inside on that team, and he handled the role well. Here are some highlights of Boozer from the 2001 Final Four. You can see some flashes of what Cameron showed last year, but Carlos was much more of an inside-oriented player. Duke was very lucky to get all three Boozers.
