SEATTLE — In his first public comments since signing his contract extension, Christian Gonzalez said he felt “extremely blessed and thankful” to be able to stay with the Patriots. “I love this team. I love Boston. I love the city,” Gonzalez said in the moments after Wednesday’s 13-10 loss to the Seahawks in the regular-season opener. “This is where I want to be, and I’m happy to be here. I’m glad we got it done. The 24-year-old Gonzalez signed a four-year, $135 million extension with the Patriots earlier in the week, a deal that made him the highest-paid cornerback in football. On Wednesday against Seattle, Gonzalez got the start at cornerback and had a pair of tackles and a team-high two passes defensed. “That’s a good team — great team. It hurts,” he said of the Seahawks. “But it’s the beginning of the season. It’s the first one, and you obviously want to start out on a win.
