Gloucestershire's overseas recruit claimed 5 for 20 from 18 overs as hapless Derbyshire, set 319 to win, were shot out for 105 inside 39 overs in the final session. Ed Middleton weighed in with 2 for 17 and Ollie Price 3 for 59 as spin accounted for all ten wickets. It represented a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for the home side, who had been 37-5 on the first day. Gloucestershire had earlier added a further 210 runs, Miles Hammond and James Bracey scoring 118 and 104 not out respectively and staging a mammoth fourth-wicket partnership of 165 in a second innings total of 359 for 5 declared. Chasing 204 to win against their Division Two promotion rivals, Northamptonshire lost all 10 wickets within 22.2 overs on the final morning of this County Championship match at Wantage Road, losing by 153 runs with over two sessions to spare. Matthew Potts again showed why he is the country's leading wicket-taker as he built pressure from the other end with express pace and claimed 3 for 13 in seven overs. Parkinson, who at times found some sharp turn, benefited at the other end as Northants attempted to take on his left-arm spin with some rash strokeplay. Ben Stokes finished with two wickets for nine runs. Earlier, Northamptonshire had made short work of wrapping up Durham's tail with leg-spinner Yuzi Chahal taking the last three wickets for 15 runs to finish with figures of 5 for 84. The result consolidates Durham's position as Division Two leaders with three games remaining. Canterbury (day four of four): Kent 238 & 358, Worcestershire 217 & 295 - Kent won by 84 runs Kent moved clear of closest rivals in the County Championship Division Two promotion race, with an 84-run win over Worcestershire at Canterbury. The margin may suggest otherwise, but this was one of Kent's most dogged wins of the season, ground out despite a century from Brett D'Oliveira. For long periods the Pears looked like chasing down the 380 they needed to win, but after they'd reached 265 for five, Keith Dudgeon took three wickets in 19 balls. Hasan Mahmud and Matt Milnes also took three wickets each, as the visitors' last five wickets fell for just 30 runs, leaving D'Oliveira stranded on 103. The win means Kent are now 15 points clear of third-placed Northamptonshire, with three matches remaining.
