Drake Maye had something to prove when the Patriots headed to Seattle to face the same Seahawks team that beat them in last year’s Super Bowl. Instead, a few errors from Maye, among other factors, resulted in a 13-10 loss to open the 2026 season. Maye, who had eight interceptions last year, had three in one game on Wednesday night. "I thought we had a good plan to try to just start chipping away and to be patient. And, yeah, lost patience, and it cost us. I think, you know, decisions that cost us the game, you know, on my part and my end. "I vowed to myself to be better and realize it's a long season at the same time. You can't have those. He played against Lock, who replaced Sam Darnold after the latter left the game early in the first with a hip injury. After throwing 10 interceptions in his rookie year, Maye threw eight last season. "I mean, we're trying to be aggressive and obviously win the football game, but not reckless. You don’t get any do-overs, but we'll have to learn from it and, you know, stick together.
