A lengthy spell on the sidelines followed and he only returned to action for Leicester in the dying embers of last season. Sheffield United have been on Souttar’s trail following Leicester’s relegation to League One, seemingly intent on a reunion with the Australia international. Posting on X, he said: “Sheffield United are moving closer to the signing of LCFC defender Harry Souttar. “United's second bid of £8m including add-ons rejected but an improved offer of £10m (+ add-ons) is imminent. Souttar has informed Leicester of his desire to leave and join the Blades.” Some supporters may have reservations over the size of the mooted fee given Souttar’s recent struggle with injury. However, he is a player who has proven himself to be capable of fitting in a Chris Wilder side. What Leicester City boss Russell Martin has said Earlier this month, when asked about Souttar’s future, Leicester boss Russell Martin said: “We're looking for people who will add to the squad in a few positions. It'll become clear for you guys over the next couple of weeks when we see people come in, we might see people go - I hope Harry's not one of them. “People will only leave when it's right for us and it's right for them, both parties are happy with how it looks. I wouldn't usually comment on people staying or going, but we have an opposition manager in Chris [Wilder], who I really like, that keeps talking about one of our players, but right now there's literally nothing to talk about.”
