RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's soccer team is set to play two matches at home as they host the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Miners on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Concordia (CTX) Tornados on Sunday at 11 a.m. Last Time Out UTRGV fell on the road to the Sam Houston Bearkats (1-1-3) at Prichett Field 4-2, Thursday, Sept. 3. Junior Isabella Burtini shined for the Vaqueros, notching her second brace of the season. She has now scored five goals through the first six matches of the season, already surpassing her season total of three in 2025. UTEP Miners – September 10, 6:30 p.m. - UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex – Edinburg, Texas The Vaqueros will host the UTEP Miners (4-0-2) Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Soccer and Track & Field Complex. This is the fourth time UTRGV and UTEP face off against each other. The Miners went 3-9-5, (0-4-4 CUSA) last season and have surpassed their win total already in 2026. UTRGV is (1-1-1) all-time against UTEP, the Vaqueros are looking to get their first win against the Miners since 2018, a 3-2 win at El Paso. This will be the first time that UTEP travels to Edinburg since a 0-0 draw in 2019. The Vaqueros are (1-0-1) all-time against the Tornados, the last time these two faced off was a 1-1 draw at home in 2023. This was the only goal UTRGV has ever given up to the Concordia. The Tornados went 7-9-4, (5-3-2 SCAC) in the 2025 season last year. Fans can tune in domestically on ESPN+ or internationally through Southland International or follow along through live stats.
