The Las Vegas Raiders are heading into the 2026 NFL season with a lot of questions to answer, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Fernando Mendoza isn't starting in Week 1, but that's not a surprise. However, what is a surprise is the recent report about superstar tight end Brock Bowers. Unfortunately, Bowers is going to miss some time after having surgery on his knee. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Bowers had meniscus surgery and is now going to miss "a game or two" due to this surgery after getting knicked up in practice last week. Bowers, the star TE, is going to be out for a short while. "Bowers got banged up 'a little in camp,' and the injury was diagnosed last week and surgery scheduled." This is some massively unfortunate news for the Raiders. With a weaker wide receiver room and some uncertainty about Ashton Jeanty, the Raiders are now going to be without their top pass catcher, Bowers. This injury has come out of nowhere for the Raiders. While Schefter is reporting that the Raiders and Bowers planned this surgery, this is news for everyone else. He played in just 12 games last season due to injury issues, and now is going to miss at least a game, maybe more, following this meniscus surgery. The Raiders begin the season at home against the Miami Dolphins, followed by two road games against the Los Angeles Chargers and New Orleans Saints. Bowers seems likely to miss Week 1, and Weeks 2 and 3 seem up in the air as well. Unfortunately, on top of the Jeanty injury concerns, the Raiders now have to worry about Bowers as well.
