Swansea City 'submit bid' for Valencia midfielder as complications emerge
The move could well be a difficult one to do
Swansea City have reportedly launched a formal bid to sign Valencia midfielder Andre Almeida.
According to Marca, the Spanish side are ready to offload the Portuguese, despite handing him an improved contract until 2029 back in September.
The exact value of the proposed offer from Swansea isn't yet known, but the same outlet claims the club are looking to avoid a loss on the €8m fee they paid Vitória Guimarães to land him back in 2022.
However, the fee is only one part of what could prove a complicated deal.
Indeed, it's claimed Almeida isn't currently interested in a move to the Championship, meaning Swansea may well end up disappointed.
The Swans have already been rejected by one midfield target this summer, having made an approach for Algerian midfielder Yacine Titraoui.

The Charleroi star is understood to be keen on playing at a higher level, and reports on the continent suggest he's now close to a move to French side RC Lens.
Whether they can avoid a similar fate with Almeida remains to be seen, but Valencia are clearly willing to listen to offers.
Almeida hasn't managed to hit the heights many at the Mestalla had been expecting, having recorded four goals and 13 assists from 119 matches.
He hasn't scored in the last two seasons, although a spinal fracture suffered in his second season at the club has been cited as a key factor in his struggles for form.
The 26-year-old reportedly snubbed the chance to join Nottingham Forest two years ago, and the suggestion is that unless he changes his mind, Swansea will likely see their own efforts end in the same fate.
Swansea have already brought four new faces on board this summer, with Stephen Welsh, Moussa Yeo, Elijah Just and Joseph Opoku all arriving in SA1.
