Despite the new season still being in its infancy, that hasn’t stopped Wilson from being criticised on social media. However, a talkSPORT pundit has seemingly tipped Wilson to get back to his best sooner rather than later. Jeff Stelling labels Harry Wilson an ‘exceptional signing’ So far at Leeds, it doesn’t feel as though Wilson has really got going. The 29-year-old is yet to register a goal or an assist for United, but in fairness to him, he’s been in and out of the team. Nevertheless, securing someone with as much Premier League experience as Wilson for free will surely prove to be a quality addition from the 49ers. Jeff Stelling certainly thinks so. Harry Wilson must impress against Chelsea If Wilson is handed a start against Chelsea in the cup, he will be under pressure to impress if he wants to fight his way back into the team for our Premier League fixtures. You’d expect Farke to hand Bahoya minutes against Chelsea too. If the Frenchman impresses on his debut, then perhaps the competition for places out wide will heat up even further. That is why Wilson must capitalise on any opportunity he gets midweek. Against Brighton, we didn’t play with two wingers, and this is something we became used to seeing last season away from home. Noah Okafor remained on the left whilst Anton Stach hovered in the pocket as a right-sided number ten when we did have the ball. But the German also tucked in alongside Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka to make up a midfield three when we were out of possession. After being Fulham’s talisman last season, Wilson still needs to prove to Farke that he should be undroppable, regardless of what system Leeds play. A positive performance against Chelsea could go a long way in doing this.
