Tottenham want to offload the winger permanently this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur are trimming their squad by offloading players that are surplus to Roberto De Zerbi’s requirements. Manor Solomon is one of those players placed on the club’s chopping block.
The winger arrived at Spurs on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2023 and put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the club. However, he has been unable to cement a spot in their squad, with injuries not helping his cause. This has led to the Israeli international being sent out on loan to Leeds United, Villarreal, and Fiorentina in the past few seasons.
After a poor six-month loan with Villarreal, Manor Solomon spent the second half of last campaign with Fiorentina in Serie A. Fiorentina had the opportunity to secure the Tottenham attacker on a permanent €10m deal, but opted against activating the clause. La Viola remain keen on re-signing him, although they do not have the financial muscle to meet Tottenham’s €10m asking price.
West Ham expected to know soon whether a deal for Manor Solomon will be possible
West Ham are the latest club showing interest in signing Solomon this summer, with the left-winger more likely than not to be on the move. The Hammers are said to have a good relationship with Spurs after Mohammed Kudus and Mateus Fernandes swapped the London Stadium for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in back-to-back summer transfer windows.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are preparing for life in the Championship. The Portuguese tactician is trying his best to keep hold of his best players to bounce back at the first time of asking. He wants to reinforce the team’s wide department after losing Crysencio Summerville to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal and has set his sights on Solomon.
Now, according to Italian journalist Luca Bendoni on X, West Ham are exploring a permanent move for Solomon. The Irons ‘expect to know’ whether meaningful progress over a deal can be made in the next 48-72 hours.
Solomon has earned a place on Tottenham’s pre-season tour squad, but a big-money attacker or two are likely to be added, and the Israeli international’s chances of getting minutes will likely diminish further. So, a drop to the Championship may not be a bad idea, as he did during the 2024/25 season. The fleet-footed attacker joined Leeds United on loan then and enjoyed his most productive campaign in English football in the Championship.
The former Fulham man could do likewise by moving to West Ham and resurrecting his career. That said, it depends on how much the Hammers are willing to splash to sign Solomon permanently from Tottenham.
