Afghanistan’s national sitting volleyball team has departed for Russia to participate in an international sitting volleyball competition, according to officials from the country’s Paralympic Federation. The team has been sent to Russia by the Afghanistan Paralympic Federation in cooperation with the General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports. The delegation consists of 10 athletes and one coach, who will represent Afghanistan alongside sitting volleyball teams from various countries around the world. The Afghan team is scheduled to play Russia in its opening match of the competition. The four-day international tournament will feature a series of matches, with Afghanistan expected to compete against several participating teams during the event. A farewell ceremony was held for the national team before its departure. The ceremony was attended by Hafiz Ahmad Jan Zadran, Technical and Professional Deputy of the country’s sports administration, several officials from the sports administration, representatives of the National Paralympic Federation, and members of the traveling team.
