With the Indianapolis Colts preparing for the New England Patriots on Thursday for the preseason opener, there is no doubt excitement around the sophomore season of tight end Tyler Warren. As the Colts are led by head coach Shane Steichen, he would give his thoughts on Warren heading into the second season of his career.
Speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Steichen would be asked about what he has seen from Warren, as he continues to build chemistry within the offense and with Indianapolis quarterback Daniel Jones. Consequently, Steichen would continue by saying how “phenomenal” Warren looks in training camp and how the goal will be to “get him the ball any way we can.”
“Yeah, he looks phenomenal. He's having a hell of a camp right now. You know, just trying to get the matchups with him any way we can. Find different ways to use them and grow from there. Like I said, he's just a tremendous player that we try to, you know, get him the ball any way we can,” Steichen said.

Colts' Tyler Warren looks to improve in sophomore season
Last season with the Colts, Warren would lead the team with 112 targets to go along with 817 yards on 76 catches for four touchdowns, all in his rookie season. Warren was chosen with the 14th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, as he came out of Penn State.
The goal for Warren now is to continue his development and be one of the top pass-catching tight ends in the NFL; as if his rookie season showed anything, it's that being one of the best players in the position isn't far out of reach. Subsequently, Warren looks to improve along with Jones as the start of the regular season comes on Sept. 13 against the Baltimore Ravens.
At any rate, the Colts look to get better after recording an 8-9 record, which put them third in the AFC South.
