Larne see dream Rangers date dashed as Europa League playoff opponents confirmed if Ibrox salvage mission succeeds Gers trail Jagiellonia Białystok by two goals to one going into the second leg of their Europa League third qualifying round clash on Thursday Rangers will face Georgian outfit FC Iberia in the Europa League play-off round if they can get past Jagiellonia Białystok on Thursday night. It's been a torrid start for new Light Blues boss Derek McInnes, who has failed to taste victory in his first three matches in the dugout. Sunday's dramatic 2-1 loss to Hibernian came just days after Gers went down by the same scoreline to Polish side Białystok in the first leg of their Europa League third qualifying round showdown, leaving them needing to overturn the deficit at Ibrox this week. McInnes' ranks are set to be bolstered by the £7million arrival of PSV Eindhoven winger Couhaib Driouech while Rangers are reportedly keen to strengthen their options at left back by re-signing Jayden Meghoma on loan from Brentford. However, Rangers have suffered a huge double injury blow ahead of Thursday's second leg after scans revealed Youssef Chermiti suffered an ACL injury after being stretchered off in the defeat to Hibs. The club say he will be out for a 'significant period of time' while Tuur Rommens - the only recognised left back currently in Gers' squad - is set to miss a number of weeks with a groin problem. But if they are able to come through Białystok, then McInnes' men will face FC Iberia for a place in the Europa League after they saw off Larne in a close two-legged tie. The sides played out a 0-0 draw in Northern Ireland last week and with the scores level at 1-1 after 90 minutes, extra time was required to decide the victors. The clash looked set to be heading for a penalty shootout only for the hosts to net a winner with four minutes remaining courtesy of Nika Sikarulashvilli. The play-off round of the Europa League will be contested over two weeks on August 20 and August 27. Should Rangers fail to progress on Thursday, they will drop into the final Conference League qualification hurdle against the winners of the tie between FK Jablonec or FC RFS.
