Turkey’s Fenerbahçe football club has agreed to sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku from Napoli for €6 million ($6.9 million) plus up to €3 million in bonuses, Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Tuesday. The 33-year-old has passed a medical examination, and the clubs are exchanging documents needed to complete the transfer. The bonuses include €2 million tied to Lukaku’s performance and €1 million if Fenerbahçe wins Turkey’s top division Süper Lig, according to Sky Sport journalist Francesco Modugno. Lukaku had agreed to personal terms and approved the move before Fenerbahçe and Napoli settled the transfer fee. Neither club had announced the signing as of Tuesday afternoon. Lukaku joined Napoli from Chelsea in 2024 and helped the club win the 2024-25 Serie A title. A quadriceps injury limited his appearances during the following season. Belgium’s all-time leading scorer has also played for Anderlecht, Everton, Manchester United and Inter Milan. He has scored 316 goals in 681 senior club appearances, according to Transfermarkt.
