Hibs and Motherwell have been Scotland’s main participants since the second qualifying round and they were also joined by Hearts and Rangers, who could drop down from the Europa League. Should Hibs get past North Macedonian side Shkendija in the third qualifying round, then they will take on the winner of either IFK Goteborg (Sweden) or Gent (Belgium). Hibs would be away from home first, with the second leg at Easter Road. Motherwell will play Bundesliga outfit Freiburg - who reached last year’s Europa League final - in the play-off round if they can find a way past HJK Helsinki. The first leg would be at Fir Park. Hearts and Rangers will hope to remain in the Europa League, but do have the fall-back of a Conference League play-off should they lose to Benfica and Jagellonia Bialystock respectively. Hearts have been drawn alongside Paide (Estonia) or Rapid Vienna (Austria) and would play the first leg at Tynecastle. Rapid Vienna knocked Dundee United out of last season’s Conference League qualifiers. Rangers, meanwhile, would play either Jablonec (Czech Republic) or RFS (Latvia) if they are involved in the Conference League play-offs. The Ibrox side would be at home first. The ties are due to be played on August 20 and August 27. UEFA will publish the full match schedule in the next 24 hours - including any potential stadium or city clashes.
