Scottish striker seals mega La Liga transfer as Rangers, Robbie Burns and blood bathing deployed in unveiling Former Rangers player Robbie Ure has signed for a side in La Liga this summer transfer window. Scotland hopeful Robbie Ure has sealed a dream move to La Liga with Sevilla, the club have confirmed. The central forward came through the Rangers academy before moving to Belgium’s Anderlecht and then Sweden’s Sirius. Capped as high as Scotland U21s level, he caught fire at the latter and now Sevilla have made the move to bring him to Spain after 31 strikes in 50 games. Ure has 15 goals in as many games at Swedish top flight level this term and will be an option for Scotland to keep a close eye on in years ahead with striker a problem position for the national team. Sevilla’s unveiling video, that included Scottish heritage, a clash with Rangers at Ibrox, their 2007 UEFA Cup win at Hampden and references to bathing in blood, unveiled Ure by stating: “We are the sons of the bagpipes and the kilt. What have Sevilla said about signing Robbie Ure? “We were brought to life on the night of the poet and our echo was heard even in the Highlands. The sons of St Andrew raised us and we walked a long road, bathed in your blood, answering those who sought to insult us and wound us, until we carried glory to the lands of our founders. Your essence runs through our veins. Now, this is your city, and this is your shield.” Jonathan Ederstrom, head of the men's team at Sirius, said: “Robbie's journey from Anderlecht's reserve team, via Sirius, to Sevilla and La Liga is fantastic. I feel enormous pride in our staff and the activities we conduct at Studenternas - from the scouting process and recruitment, to the development environment and everyday life. Since Robbie came to Sirius, we have developed together. “Him as a player and a person and us as a club.
