LAHORE - The Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA), under the patronage of Sindh Basketball Association (SBBA) patron and Sindh Wrestling Association Senior Vice President Ghulam Muhammad Khan, will organise a series of basketball activities today (Sunday) to commemorate Pakistan Defence Day. The programme will begin at 12:30pm with a visit to the mausoleum of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, recipient of Nishan-e-Haider, at the military cemetery adjacent to Gora Qabaristan. A delegation of sports personalities, led by Waqas Abbasi, AC General to Commissioner Karachi, will offer Fateha and pay tribute to the national hero. At 3:30pm, the national anthem will be played at the International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court. A cake-cutting ceremony will follow at 4pm, alongside exhibition matches featuring girls’ and boys’ players. Keamari Deputy Commissioner Abdul Sattar Hakhro will distribute prizes among the participants at 6pm. Players will also receive sports kits from Syed Foundation Chairman Syed Wasim Hashmi, while refreshments and tea will be provided by CCO Haji Shakeel Jan.
