Dundee United Football Club is to submit plans to introduce controlled alcohol sales within designated areas of the CalForth Construction Arena at Tannadice Park during eligible William Hill Premiership fixtures throughout the 2026/27 season, subject to the granting of the appropriate licence by Dundee City Licensing Board. The proposal follows the success of similar initiatives at Dundee United games in the Premier Sports Cup this summer as well as a number of similar successful applications at other clubs across Scottish football. The club worked closely alongside Dundee City Licensing Board, Police Scotland, Dundee City Council and the SPFL to ensure those pilots were delivered safely and responsibly. Applications would be made on a game-by-game basis at Tannadice Park as part of discussions with the relevant authorities, with applications only pursued for lower risk non-Category CIR matches. The designated licensed areas include the George Fox Lower and Upper concourses, together with the Eddie Thompson Stand Upper and Lower concourses. Subject to licence, supporters aged 18 and over will be able to purchase alcoholic beverages within these designated areas before kick-off and during half-time. Alcohol may only be consumed within the licensed concourse areas and cannot be taken into the stadium seating desk. Challenge 25 will operate throughout the stadium, with a maximum purchase limit in place per transaction. The introduction of controlled alcohol sales forms part of Scottish football’s ongoing commitment to modernising the Scottish matchday experience while maintaining the highest standards of supporter safety and responsible alcohol management. The club would like to thank Dundee City Licensing Board, Police Scotland, Dundee City Council, the Safety Advisory Group and the SPFL for their continued support throughout the application process. Further information regarding the operation of alcohol sales at Tannadice Park, including frequently asked questions, will be published ahead of the club's next eligible home league fixture.
