Throughout their long careers in the NFL, Terrell Owens and Brett Favre faced off several times on teams that had no love for each other. Indeed, Owens had stints with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, two of the biggest rivals of the Green Bay Packers in the 1990s and early 2000s. Though they never interacted much outside of being on the same Pro Bowl team, there was little reason to think that the two players had anything but professional respect for each other as fellow Pro Football Hall of Famers. However, it appears that Owens believes his contemporary should be behind bars. Terrell Owens believes Brett Favre is guilty of fraud In recent years, Favre has been at the center of a political controversy in Mississippi. According to multiple allegations, he took part in a scheme that transferred money from the state’s welfare fund and had it instead sent to the university where his daughter played volleyball. The purpose of this was so that the school could build a new volleyball auditorium. That being said, the statute of limitations for the crimes of which Favre was accused has already expired. When asked his thoughts about the situation on the “Get to the Point” podcast, Owens initially said, “You look at what he’s done scamming women out of X amount of dollars, Brett Favre scammed a lot of people outta money too and he’s still walking around. So if that’s the case, Brett Favre should be in jail too.” Owens’ post from X was him doubling down on his words. Favre was never indicted for any crimes, though others that he did business with were convicted of various crimes, including wire fraud. As mentioned previously, the statute of limitations for the crimes which Favre was accused of in the court of public opinion have already expired.
