It will take him a while to get up to speed, but if he does well and Tottenham do well with Mudryk in the team performing and producing, then there is a possibility that he could join on a permanent basis,” Pete O’Rourke said on the Transfer Insider podcast (h/t Football Insider). “The option is there, but there is a hefty price tag on his head, so let’s wait and see. A lot will depend on the player and a lot will depend on how Tottenham do as well.” Mudryk’s performances will be evaluated in 2027 As rightly put out by Pete O’Rourke, it is too early to judge Mudryk right now. The Chelsea loanee was banned for off-field matters in November 2024, and he completed serving it in July 2026. He was integrated into the Chelsea squad by manager Xabi Alonso, but after a discussion behind the scenes, all parties agreed for the player to go out on loan. Having closely worked with him, De Zerbi pushed Tottenham to raid their London rivals for Mudryk. Quite understandably, the attacker looked rusty and off the pace, although he did make some penetrative runs into the box. De Zerbi will look to increase his minutes as the season progresses, and after the first international break, Mudryk will probably be ready to push for a start. For now, it would be naïve to think about the player’s permanent signing.
