Falkirk go up a gear and earn Motherwell point after superb second half at Fir Park Falkirk were held to a bore draw as they travelled to Motherwell on Sunday in their first away fixture of the Scottish Premiership season. The hosts had the first opportunity of the match ten minutes in with a long corner taken by Emmanuel Longelo, but it was well defended by Liam Henderson. Falkirk were quick to respond two minutes later with a shot from Ethan Ross on the edge of the area, but it was caught by Alex Paulsen. Ross then found himself with a great opportunity to score the opener as he was fouled outside the area, but his free kick that followed was struck over. Motherwell should’ve been ahead after 30 minutes as Ibrahim Said was unlucky to hit the crossbar after a powerful strike towards goal. A great save from Scott Bain towards the end of the half denied the hosts a chance to get ahead before the break. The Falkirk goalkeeper sprung into action and came out quickly to deny Lukas Fadinger the opportunity. The teams went back into the tunnel for half time without any goals scored, and Falkirk made one change as Craig Sibbald replaced Finn Yeats. The visitors then had another opportunity to find an opener as Ryan Strain’s free kick was heading for Henderson, but the centre half was unable to find the back of the net. There wasn’t much else to report in the second half, and after three minutes of additional time the full time whistle was blown and the points were shared. Falkirk now have a break until they head to Celtic Park on August 29.
