The game was played over two hour-long periods, with John Eustace fielding a different XI in both halves, former Blackburn man Ryan Hedges played the first 55 minutes before being replaced by Remi Harvey. The Rams slipped behind to a ninth minute goal from Cyriaque Irié but equalised on the quarter hour mark when Oscar Fraulo won a turnover as SC Freiburg tried to play out and laid on for Morris to finish coolly with his left foot. The first period ended at 1-1 with Eustace sending on a fresh, more youthful team for the second. The second half saw Freiburg get the win with goals from Vincenzo Grifo and Leon Catak. Next up: John Eustace’s side are back in action on Tuesday in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Valencia. Then they face Mansfield Town (Friday 31st July) and Burton Albion (Saturday 1st August)
