The fight began to swing Sintes’ way in the second round as he found more success getting the contest to the mat. After securing top position away from the fence, Sintes steadily worked through Aljarouj’s guard, briefly taking mount before unleashing ground-and-pound and damaging elbows. He also attacked with a mounted guillotine late in the round, forcing Aljarouj to survive until the bell. Fabia Sintes Survives Late Push To Win UFC Paris Debut Sintes wasted little time returning to his grappling in the third, completing another takedown just seconds into the round. Aljarouj repeatedly searched for leg locks and scrambles from his back, but Sintes remained composed and avoided the danger while continuing to chip away with elbows. The Spaniard threatened with multiple chokes, including a D’Arce, as Aljarouj struggled to create enough space to escape. The Frenchman finally reversed the position with just over a minute remaining and spent the remainder of UFC Paris on top, but he could not generate enough offense or advance beyond Sintes’ guard. When the scorecards were read, Sintes had done enough to secure the decision, with the judges scoring the fight 29-28, 29-28 and 29-27 in his favor. The victory gave Sintes his eighth consecutive win and improved his professional record to 9-1, while Aljarouj dropped to 8-2-1 following his UFC Paris debut.
